Alfonso loved the game of baseball and was a devoted mets fan. He played 3rd base for Aviation High School in Queens, New York (Class of '75). He coached and was a member of the board at Sayrewood South Little League in Old Bridge, New Jersey. He also umpired with various organizations including the United States Amateur Baseball League (USABL). His dream was to visit every stadium in the MLB. In lieu of flowers, we are accepting donations for a baseball scholarship in his name. This scholarship will be given to a deserving player at Old Bridge High School, Saint Benedict School, and Aviation High School chosen by faculty. Thank you for your donation which will allow us to perpetuate the memory of Alfonso Gomez while continuing to give back to our community.
